PAUSE! Now Re-brand…

Pause…
Hold your breath!
Visualise your thoughts, empty them in a jar
Now,
Think free…

Now let’s think banks,

Which comes to your mind as the greatest bank of all time?

If you thought of the bank with the new cool blue and beautiful yellow with a blue elephant nested in it – FIRSTBANK of Nigeria; you thought right.
FirstBank is an enigma and has distinguished itself over time as not just being dynamic but always staying in touch with the times – the brand has stayed alive because it kept with its values.
I was walking along the road to church and I looked up and the first thing I noticed was the hues have changed –  to a cooler more vibrant blue and a bubbly hint of yellow with it. Very eye catchy colours if I may add.
Over the years I have come to appreciate their forward thinking, knowing just the right time to move with the times without changing their values. I have been privileged to intern with them at some point in my life and the experience was life changing and after working in another bank close to their rank, I decided there and then that if I will end up in a bank then FirstBank will be the first one of choice.
In my mind, they exist only as a competition to themselves, one day you are there and you are awed by what they’ve accomplished; the next day in the same banking hall may leave you with the same feeling even more exhilarating than yesterday’s.

My love for their organisation is like one heady teenage love that you can’t get enough of, I always look forward to scanning the details that exist in the making of their calendars, almanacs and diaries and theirs is a brand you’ll never doubt.
It’s hard to believe that they have been here for over a hundred years, and unlike their counter parts – they do not rest on their laurels but have even exceeded expectations; and worked their way up to being the best even among the 21st century banks…
I wish they didn’t have to change their slogan from “…truly the first…” to “…since 1894…” because let’s face it they are truly the first.
