Divinity

I learnt a lot of lessons yesterday from being laughed at in the common room at work in the morning to sharing the contents of a song with someone late at night. I will highlight my lessons here;

1. The heart of a King is in the Lord’s hands and He wields it wherever He pleases.
I learnt this by submitting a difficult situation into the hands of God; and even though I felt bad that I was laughed at a point, and probably lost a bit of respect for someone I valued there and then. I decided to put everything in God. I’ve made a few mistakes in my life – especially when it comes to being overly trusting. I just let it go for people I don’t have the faintest idea about. I guess the only one to count on is God especially when your emotions get discredited to be a foolish dream.

2. I am created for a purpose
When purpose isn’t known, abuse is inevitable. Everywhere I find myself, I’ve tried to do something there that outlasts that place. I can’t ever say that I’ve failed but I’m still questioning what more purpose I may have. There was a sendforth for my old boss at work today and she spoke about having a purpose in every situation; and discovering it no matter how compromising the situation presents itself. I was faced with one of such, when a particular young lady started singing a song I knew too well, along a path I shouldn’t have been walking on, and it seemed I was the only one available to correct the way she was murdering the song. It may seem mundane but I know God led me to her, to help her get it right.

3. I learnt about values
I’ve always spoken about creating family values when I have my family, with my husband – setting ground rules – the thought came back because my friends and I were talking about what the children have become these days and how parents have degenerated to the point of letting their children dictate to them. I just want to do right by the children God gives me, nurture them in the right way and love them irrespective of their mistakes. They will make mistakes but hoping they won’t be costly.

4. I learnt about listening to God and waiting for the right man
Not discrediting the No, He says when He says it. Waiting, praying and being faithful enough to see His good work being completed to the end.

These lessons were profound and got me thinking. I knew then that God positioned me to be there yesterday. I also had fun, tremendous fun – something I hardly indulge in for the sake of modesty, but I was happy yesterday and intend to keep it that way for a long time.
