JOURS DEUX: Describe a moment or a day when being single really sucked.

Day 1

Lol. There isn’t just a moment or a day; there are/were moments and days.

But I’ll describe a perfect day when being single sucks – I wake up, say my prayers thanking God for the gift of life, family and friends; I even throw in a word or two for the leaders and those in authority. Promising myself that today is going to be one of my best days
I get to work still humming happy tunes, put my name down in the clock in register – go to say hi to my friend, convo goes like this:

Me: “what’s up …?”
Friend: “I’m good and you, did you sleep well, ehen what were you saying about that thing yesterday night”
Me: “what thing is… (smells fragrance) Oh that’s a nice fragrance you’ve got there, where did you buy it?”
Friend: “I didn’t buy it, Philip bought it for me”
Me: “oh, it smells really nice” strike one take care dear, I’ll see you later”

It’s not my intent to be that but I just find out automatically that my mood changes, as if that isn’t enough, that day can bring tales of how a friend got engaged, hearing about a person’s special someone taking them out on a treat or how Dipo did this, Efe did that and Dupe planning a surprise party for Sam.

It deals with my train of thoughts, and most times I forget the things I’m grateful for and start to think of the things I lack like the companionship, the kindness one has to exhibit (I love doing things for people I care about), the little secrets you unburden on each other, the little arguments about things that are so trivial, the make ups. It makes it suck.

I try to think of the reasons why I’m still single and why the wait will be worth it and that keeps me going. I plan the things I’ll do for him when he arrives and how much fun we will have – that helps me deal. Something is being worked out on my behalf and I’m so excited just thinking about the possibilities.

So there’s my answer, see you on Day 3. Express you in the comment box.
Stay in God. Peace, love, bisou bisou
