I know it tends to become cliché when people say they understand the awesomeness of God but believe me it isn’t cliché for me to talk about His awesomeness
I was going through Job 38 today as instructed from my devotional in my Bible plan –
First of all, I will like to say God is a figurative Spirit and His express use of sarcasm is beautiful, In describing to Job what He had done and what He was yet to do, I was left flawed and speechless; I even had an Eureka moment.
Job 38.2 says “who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?”
Job 38.12 – “Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know it’s place?”
As if I wasn’t astounded enough, God asked in vs 22 and 23:
“have you entered the treasury of snow, or have seen the treasury of hail – which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?”
Not like I am surprised at this but the treasury of Snow and Hail, understanding that a treasury is a store house that you keep valuables.
God is awesome, in fact, He is all that and more.
The song that keeps resonating in my head is about how awesome God is.
I do not know how else to quantify a God that turns His back on His own son (Jesus) to save a race that is unworthy
or the fact that the cattle on a thousand hills belong to Him
a God that mountains skip like lambs for, and hills like rams
The unchangeable changer
The one who was, and is, and is to come
A person existing in three persons yet still unique in their roles
A merciful Father who never strives with us
He is not a man that He should lie, He is not the son of man that He should repent
Someone who says and does, Someone who speaks and makes it good
Do you understand what it means for people to walk 40 years in the wilderness, their feet were not bruised, their clothes remained new, their bodies were not blistered, or their lips cracked. They didn’t die of dehydration or hunger.
He knows, He sees, He says… He is God.
